OMEN Playground

During my time at .Monks, I led the brand design and visual direction for OMEN Playground — a first-of-its-kind digital platform aimed at empowering India’s growing gaming community. The mission was clear: to create a destination where gamers could upskill, share their stories, access exclusive OMEN content, and stay updated on the latest in gaming and esports. It wasn’t just about building a website — it was about building a home base for a generation of creators who game, stream, learn, and play on their own terms.

Building the Brand with a Pulse

My starting point was to design a visual identity that would resonate with both casual gamers and hardcore e-sports enthusiasts. I created the OMEN Playground wordmark, which became the anchor of the brand — sleek, modular, and expressive without trying too hard.

The design system expanded into a bold, kinetic language — glitch-inspired textures, high-contrast UI elements, and a color palette rooted in OMEN’s existing identity but pushed into more expressive territory. Every piece was meant to feel alive, scrollable, and rooted in the energy of digital-first subcultures.

A Site Made for Scroll-Speed Attention

While the core UX was handled by a partnering agency, I worked closely with their team to ensure that the brand visuals and content strategy were tightly integrated into the product experience. The site needed to cater to multiple user flows — from esports fans watching livestreams, to up-and-coming creators looking to get discovered.

We designed interactive modules, creator profiles, content carousels, and editorial sections that worked equally well on desktop and mobile. Think of it like a constantly evolving gaming zine — immersive, bite-sized, and community-first.

Community, Not Just Content

The launch of omenplayground.com marked a shift in how HP approached its audience in India — from product marketing to platform building. We weren’t just selling OMEN devices; we were giving people a reason to return, to engage, to feel part of something.

The response was electric. OMEN Playground became a go-to hub for local gaming updates and OMEN-sponsored events, including tournaments and creator collaborations. For me, it was the kind of project where design felt truly multidimensional — a mix of brand storytelling, digital architecture, and cultural listening.
